Originally from Mexico, Cruz spent his childhood and early adult years in Michigan and Florida before embarking on a 15-year career in the automotive industry. As a mechanical engineer, Cruz worked on large international corporate projects. 

In 2020, Cruz and his family were ready for a change of pace. That year, the Barragans made the move to Franklin, Tennessee, drawn by the area’s welcoming atmosphere and thriving community.
