When United announced its latest Summer Streaming Giveaway in June, Nolensville resident Mitchell Waller decided to enter on a whim. To his surprise, he walked away with the second-place prize package: an Apple TV smart streaming device and a premium Sonos wireless soundbar.
For Mitchell, the giveaway was icing on the cake and an unexpected bonus to what he already considers an essential service.
“I’ve had United since I was a kid,” Mitchell shared. “When my family moved to Nolensville back in 2005, United was the only internet provider in our area, and we’ve stuck with them ever since. Now that I have my own place just down the street from my parents, it made sense to continue with United. It’s always been consistent and dependable.”
A Career Built on Connectivity
Mitchell works as an e-commerce analyst for a major restaurant company based in Middle Tennessee, where he helps manage projects for the company’s online store. Like many professionals today, he spends part of his week working remotely.
“I’m on video calls all the time, connected to cloud services and VPNs,” he explained. “I never have to worry about my internet cutting out. If there’s ever an issue on a call, I know it’s not me—it’s on the other end.”
That kind of reliability is crucial for someone who balances a demanding job with personal hobbies that depend on a reliable connection, like gaming online with friends from across the country. “The plan I have is perfect—it handles work, gaming, streaming, and all my smart devices without a problem.”
A Dependable Neighbor in Nolensville
Living in a more rural part of Nolensville means dependable internet isn’t always a given. Mitchell appreciates that United has been serving his community for decades.
“Other providers might promise big speeds, but outages were common when I lived elsewhere,” he said. “With United, it just works. Even during storms, I honestly can’t remember a time when it’s gone down.”
Founded in Marshall County and now headquartered in Franklin, Tennessee, United serves over 40,000 customers across Middle Tennessee—even its most rural, sparsely populated communities—with fiber broadband service reaching speeds of up to 8 Gbps for residential service.
Looking Ahead
With his brand new Apple TV streaming device and Sonos soundbar, Mitchell is excited to enhance his home entertainment setup. “The soundbar will be great for movie nights, and the Apple TV means I can stream easily in different rooms or when friends come over,” he said.
When asked how he’d describe United to someone considering switching, Mitchell didn’t hesitate: “Reliable. You can set it and forget it, and it just works. That’s worth a lot.”
