United Communications Announces Recipients of United Community Foundation Scholarship

Chapel Hill, Tenn. – September 17, 2020 – United Communications, Middle Tennessee’s leading provider of fiber and fixed wireless internet services announced the 2020 recipients of the annual United Community Foundation scholarship.

Each scholar was selected after displaying remarkable academic achievement and community service. Funded by the United Community Foundation, the scholarship program enables local youth to continue their education on the collegiate level. Each recipient will receive $1,000 per year for up to four years to advance in their respective field of study. For over 30 years, United has awarded merit-based scholarships to children of employees. Starting this year, United was also pleased to award its first external scholarship to a graduating senior within United’s service area.

“Community is at the core of our mission” said William Bradford, president and CEO of United Communications. “We strive to enhance the quality of life of our employees, who we consider to be part of our extended family. Helping fund a college education for deserving high-school graduates is a great way to do that. We are even more excited to Expand this support to our broader community by offering an annual scholarship to a graduate of Forrest High School, in Chapel Hill.

Below are the students who were selected for the 2020 United Community Foundation scholarships:

[Employee/Children] Scholarship Recipients

Alissa Bradford (1st Year recipient) – Alissa will be attending Martin Methodist College in pursuit of a Nursing degree. She is the daughter of Melissa Bradford, Customer Support Specialist with United. Alissa is a 2020 graduate from Cornersville High School in Cornersville.

Dylan Jones (2nd Year recipient) – Dylan begins his second year as a scholarship recipient. He continues to pursue his Accounting degree at Columbia State Community College. Dylan is a Warehouse Technician with United and graduated in 2019 from Forrest High School in Chapel Hill.

Jacob Isom (3rd Year recipient) – Jacob is attending his third year at MTSU seeking a degree in Criminal Justice. He is the son of Jamie Isom, Accounts Payable Clerk with United. Community Scholarship Recipient

Zoe Long (1st Year) – Zoe will be studying Elementary Education at Columbia State Community College. She also participated in the United Communications Student Ambassador Program. Zoe is the daughter of William Long and Estelle Long and is a 2020 graduate from Forrest High School in Chapel Hill.
