Speed Needs
8 Gbps: Best for lots of connected smart devices, power users, high-volume data transfers, and future-proofing for the latest technology upgrades.
2 Gbps: Ideal for large households or professionals needing high-speed connections for cloud storage and simultaneous streaming across multiple devices.

Which Internet Speed Is Right For You?
Multi-Gig Limitations
Note that not all devices can handle multi-gig speeds, and specialized equipment like a compatible router and modem is required. For United’s 8 Gig service, we make it easy by including the necessary router in the monthly price.
Many devices won’t achieve the full multi-gig speed over Wi-Fi due to hardware and interference constraints. Multi-gig is best for hardwired connections however, a Wi-Fi connection and hardwired connection in the same home will have plenty of bandwidth available for both to use at the same time.
Typically running a speed test on a standard device will not show the full multi-gig speed as a number of older customer devices are not capable of transmitting data as fast as 2 Gig or 8 Gig.
Internet speeds may vary and are not guaranteed. Certain equipment may be required to fully reach advertised speeds.
