FRANKLIN, Tenn. (June 23, 2026)—United Communications, Middle Tennessee’s leading local fiber internet provider, announced today that it has connected its 50,000th broadband customer, Bryan Barton. Bryan lives in Franklin, Tennessee, where United is investing $22.8 million to bring multi-gig fiber internet service to thousands of new homes and businesses.
To mark the milestone, Bryan and his wife, Jennifer, were surprised with a gift basket featuring items to make the most of their new internet connection this summer, including a JBL Flip Speaker, $50 Spotify gift card, sunblock, beach towels, and cooler.
“Communication from the United team has been great, and they have been very professional and informative throughout the process,” said Bryan. “We were having issues with connectivity around our property, so the timing of our United internet and outdoor wi-fi installation couldn’t have been better. After more than 25 years with our previous national provider, it’s refreshing to make a change that feels focused on better service and a better customer experience.”
“More families are choosing United’s fiber internet as they move away from impersonal, national providers in favor of a faster, more reliable, community-focused alternative,” said William Bradford, president and CEO of United Communications. “This milestone reinforces what we hear every day: people are switching to a local provider they can trust, and they’re telling their neighbors to do the same.”
United Communications has made significant, long-term investments to expand high-speed fiber internet across Franklin and the surrounding region—bringing more local families and businesses access to reliable, future-ready connectivity.
May 2025 marked the fifth anniversary of the company establishing its Franklin headquarters in Berry Farms. More than 4,000 Franklin homes and businesses were initially connected to United fiber, and the current phase of construction will bring service to an additional 28,000 homes in the area.
These Franklin-area expansions are part of a broader capital commitment to accelerate fiber growth across Middle Tennessee. United Communications recently announced it has secured a $230 million credit facility and plans to invest more than $100 million in the near future to expand fiber infrastructure in Middle Tennessee communities.
United’s fiber internet is built for the way people live now, designed to support streaming, remote work, telehealth visits, gaming, and content creation. The company’s 8 Gig Premier internet plan—the region’s fastest residential offering—was designed to support multi-device homes with next-generation performance and whole-home coverage.
