United Communications Completes Loretto Telecom Acquisition, Adds 8,000 Fiber Locations in Lawrence County

Acquisition adds 8,000 fiber locations in Southern Middle Tennessee and retains all Loretto employees, with further expansion and 10 Gig services planned

FRANKLIN, Tenn. (October 20, 2026) — United Communications has completed its acquisition of Loretto Telecom, expanding its fiber network to include approximately 8,000 additional locations in Lawrence County, Tennessee. The transaction, which closed September 30, marks United’s fourth acquisition in the past decade and further strengthens its position as the leading regional internet service provider.

The acquisition brings Loretto’s existing network and entire team into United, combining Loretto’s established local presence with United’s network development and customer service resources. This milestone follows several years of growth for Loretto, including recent fiber expansion in Lawrenceburg and Summertown.

“Loretto’s team has done outstanding work expanding fiber across Lawrence County, and we’re proud to build on what they have accomplished,” said William Bradford, president and CEO of United Communications. “Lawrence County is a priority growth market for United. We see significant opportunities to continue expanding our reach and investing in the next phase of growth.”

The acquisition creates opportunities to connect and extend United’s fiber network across southern Middle Tennessee. United has been expanding through neighboring Maury County, while Loretto Telecom has extended its network into northern Lawrence County. Before the acquisition, the two networks had grown to within approximately 1,000 feet of each other. Bringing these neighboring footprints together creates a natural foundation for future network expansion across the region.

United has begun planning a multimillion-dollar expansion supported by a $2.25-million Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) grant that was recently awarded to Loretto.

As part of the acquisition, United has retained all Loretto employees and will support the team with broader engineering, construction and operational resources, including 24/7 technical support today and 10 Gig services in the future.

“Loretto’s employees bring valuable experience and customer relationships to United,” said Josh Lynch, chief operating officer of United Communications. “Our focus is giving that team the resources to grow and giving customers reliable internet, faster service options and help they can count on.”
