BY Josh Lynch Chief Operating Officer of United Communications
As a local internet service provider, our team at United Communications knows there’s nothing quite like a Tender Tennessee Christmas. That’s why we’re committed to doing everything we can to help our customers create memorable moments with family and meaningful connections with loved ones during the holidays.
From staying connected with family members who live far away, United offers various services and solutions to make the most of this special time of year. Here are four ways United Communications can help connect your family during the holidays:
1. Our fast and reliable internet plans help you stay close to your loved ones, even when you’re miles apart.
The holidays are a time for families and loved ones to come together, but what if you can’t be together in person? That’s where United Communications comes in. A recent experience I had reminded me of the importance of connection:
I have three young children, and I spent two weeks traveling without them this year. The miles between us felt like mere steps, thanks to United Communications’ excellent home internet service. Despite the long plane ride, I was just a click away from home. Every day during my travels, I would call in to see their familiar, excited faces. I was able to tell them about the great food I ate (my favorite part of travel) and they told me all about their school day and even got to show me the crazy outfits they chose for homecoming week festivities. For me, the experience was another reminder of how grateful I am for the ability to connect with loved ones from anywhere at any time.
Our fiber internet plans make it easy for you to stay connected with your loved ones, no matter where they are in the world. You can video chat with your family and friends, share photos and videos, and even play online games together.
2. We are here to reduce the stress of hosting family gatherings with reliable connections and management tools.
Hosting family gatherings for the holidays can be stressful, but it doesn’t have to be. At United Communications, we want to help make it an effortless experience and a solid internet connection can make being together as a family—and circling in the family from afar—even easier.
A few days ago, I ran across an interesting study that found that 35% of Americans believe that Wi-Fi is more important than gifts for their holiday celebrations. The study also stated that 1 in 5 people planned to upgrade their Wi-Fi plan to accommodate more users this holiday season. More aunts, uncles, and cousins mean more devices and an upgraded plan can help support an increase in calls to grandma and grandpa to show off that new bike.
Our fiber internet offers the ability to connect an unlimited number of devices and stream multiple HD videos simultaneously. So you can play video games, use the Santa tracker on your phone, purchase that last-minute gift, watch the YouTube video to get that classic recipe and stream your favorite holiday movies or football games with your family without worrying about buffering. Our UControl app also makes it easy to manage guest access and prioritize devices so you can make sure that everyone has a good internet experience.
3. We want to help you create more meaningful moments with your loved ones this holiday season with help from our UControl app.
It’s easy to get caught up in the digital world during the holidays, but it’s important to remember to be present and connect with your family members when you’re together. United Communications can help you do that with our Ultimate UControl app.
The Ultimate UControl app allows you to set boundaries, establish time limits, and enable or disable applications during specific time periods. This can reduce screen time and create more opportunities for meaningful in-person connections with family
For example, you could use the Ultimate UControl app to set a time limit for how long your family members can use their devices during the day. You could also disable certain apps during certain times of the day, such as during dinner or family game night. At my house we only use streaming services to watch TV, using our Ultimate UControl app allows me to disable those services at a set time each night whether my kids are using a handheld device or watching the actual TV.
4. Our Making Connections campaign creates an opportunity for customers to reconnect with loved ones in person.
United Communications wants to help families connect during the holidays in person. In October, we launched our Making Connections campaign to reward four customers with airline tickets and gift card prizes to help them visit a loved one this holiday season. The contest officially ended on November 4th, and winners will be announced on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. It was inspiring to hear the stories from participants excited about the potential of surprising their loved ones this holiday season.
Make This Holiday Season One to Remember with United Communications
We care about facilitating heartwarming moments by doing what we can to make this holiday season unforgettable for you and your family. Our fiber internet plans help you effortlessly connect with loved ones who may be miles away. Our internet management control app helps you promote quality family time, and our special Making Connections campaign could help you visit a friend or family member that you most want to see. United Communications is committed to ensuring your holidays are filled with cherished memories. No matter how you connect with your loved ones this holiday season, United Communications is here to help.
