United Completes Fiber Install for City of Lewisburg

United Celebrates Fiber Installation with the City of Lewisburg In Addition to Hosted PBX Phone Services

Lewisburg, Tenn. – February 9, 2021 – United Communications, a leading provider of high-speed internet services in Middle Tennessee, celebrated the installation of their fiber network to the municipal offices of the City of Lewisburg. In addition to providing one of the highest reliability networks in the region, their internal telecommunications also include Hosted PBX (phone services). With the addition of this fiber network to the Lewisburg area, other businesses and residential locations in and around the City of Lewisburg will also have high-speed access.

“Not only will this new network bring the City of Lewisburg access to the latest technologies and systems that only a fiber network can support, but it will bring broadband choice and economic development to the area,” said William Bradford, CEO of United Communications. “We appreciate our relationships and being a trusted partner to our counties and municipalities and look forward to continuing our substantial investment in Marshall County and Lewisburg.”

Investing in Local Businesses by Partnering with a Local Broadband Provider

The project was announced in March 2020. The new fiber network built by United Communications brings the locally-owned telecommunications network to Lewisburg and the surrounding areas of Marshall County. While the City of Lewisburg will have access to a portion of the fiber network to support its own telecom infrastructure, the infrastructure will offer residential and business broadband services along the route. This is a great example on how this investment by the City of Lewisburg has led to a much bigger investment that benefits the community.

The announcement was made by William Bradford, president and CEO of United Communications in conjunction with Jim Bingham, City of Lewisburg Mayor, at Lewisburg City Hall on Tuesday, February 9.

“When this project was announced in 2020, we knew access to reliable broadband was important, but now it is more important than ever. The leaders of Lewisburg should be proud that this project resulted in bringing a new, 100% fiber-optic, network to the community, said Bradford. “These kinds of projects will further support work-from-home, virtual school, and telemedicine needs of the community.”

“Broadband has become as essential to business and commerce as power, water and gas,” said Lewisburg Mayor Jim Bingham. “The high-speed service offered by United Communications ensures that Lewisburg and Marshall County industries, businesses and its citizens all have vital access to opportunities locally, regionally, nationally and globally.”
