United Continues Fiber Expansion In Bedford County

United Communications continues to aggressively upgrade service offerings as part of the overall strategy to deliver fiber to significant portions of Bedford County. United recently upgraded roughly 125 miles of fiber backbone aimed at supporting future fiber-to-the-home expansion goals in Bedford County. This latest rounds of service upgrades offers 1,000 new homes and businesses access to Internet speeds up to 50mbps, and will ultimately support the future expansion of United’s UniFi fiber-to-the-home services, with speeds up to 1 GIG in Bedford County.

“We were absolutely thrilled to be the first provider to bring Gigabit Internet to Northern Bedford County earlier this year,” commented United President and CEO, William Bradford. “Based on the tremendous success of our initial fiber launch in this area, we are even more eager to expand faster speeds and digital TV services to a larger portion of the county. At United, we are focused on delivering faster speeds and dedicated service to our customers and making a significant impact on driving economic development in the areas we serve by deploying fiber and faster broadband speeds.”
