West College Grove Next Middle Tennessee Community To Get Fiber Internet

United Communications has their sights set on a new residential fiber project in the West College Grove area of Williamson County. Since January, United has announced ten new planned fiber zones, where residents can pre-register for United Fiber service. West College Grove is one of four planned fiber areas that that have met the designated customer goal this year. This mainly rural area of College Grove consists of approximately 200 homes. United Communications will begin constructing the new fiber-to-the-home network over the next 90 days with a completion date target of early September.

The goal of United’s UniFi fiber campaign is to identify broadband needs of residents and businesses across Middle Tennessee. The new UniFi campaign website, https://fiber.united.net, gives residents and businesses the power to pre-register to express interest in future fiber services with United.

“We are extremely proud of what we have been able to accomplish in order to bring Fiber Internet and faster speeds to customers in Tennessee. We know fiber technology is built to meet the growing demands of today’s heavy Internet user as well as support the connected home of the future,” said United Communications President and CEO, William Bradford. “It has been great to see the demand for this technology flourish through our new fiber site. It has also completely transformed our future fiber deployment plans by giving customers and residents the power to tell us what they want, and then be able to meet that need,” commented Bradford.

“Simultaneously, while United pushes fiber service deployment, we will also continue to focus our daily efforts on delivering faster Internet speeds to existing service areas through improved access technology where fiber service is not yet available. Ultimately, we want to provide state-of-the-art communication services that Middle Tennessee residents want and need in today’s highly technical world, and we won’t stop until we have met that goal” said Bradford.
